About Wagga Caravan Centre

Wagga Caravans was first established by Mark Hillis who has lived and worked in the local area for over 50 years. Several years ago Mark decided he needed a change of scenery and opened the Wagga Caravan Centre.

Mark, who owned the local Hillis Group of car dealerships decided he didn’t have enough on his plate and needed a new challenge. His strong reputation for really looking after his customers was easily transposed over to the caravan arena.

His customers bought with confidence knowing Mark would always be there for them should they need him. The large number of repeat customers is a testament to his strong business ethics and morals.

Moving forward a few years and in line with keeping it a family business he recruited the services of his son Jack into the business. Jack who was living in Darwin with his new family didn’t think twice and made the move back to Wagga to help out with the family business.

This has been an easy transition for Jack as he has had the supporting hand of his now mentor being his Dad. Jack has taken to the lifestyle industry like a duck to water. He has very quickly forged himself as a name within the caravan industry and the Wagga Caravan brand is growing from strength to strength.

The Wagga Caravans Difference

When I visited the dealership, I immediately had this feeling of a real country style where everything was easy, and the staff are super friendly. Wagga Caravans is a rural dealership with a real rural feel to it. That being said they are a very professional business offering real value and follow up service to all their customers.

Wagga Caravans now under the leadership of Jack is continuing to grow. With the expansion of product choice, it really gives any potential buyer multiple options in a variety of price ranges.

Wagga Caravans has had a strong relationship with the caravan brands under their banner being Lotus, Retreat, Design RV, Goldstream and CUB Campers. Jack proudly talks about his working relationships with the manufacturers and ensuring all his customers are placed into their dream unit.

Jack goes on to say how he can custom build a caravan to suit how any buyer wants to travel and use their new investment. He has a strong history of working closely with his customers and is a strong believer that every new owner is an advocate of his business.

Jack and Kenny (Sales Manager) took me for a walk around the dealership proudly showing off what Wagga Caravans represents. The passion for the industry is very evident and it is very apparent to me when just listening to the enthusiasm flowing from both these guys.

Expansions

Jack took the leap of faith some time ago and has expanded his repair facility. The dealership now has the capacity to be able to do everything from the smallest repair right through to full re-sheets and rebuilds. Some 3 years ago the facility was increased to be able to handle up to 12 caravans being worked on at the same time.

Jack has also increased his service and repair staff to a total of 9. Damon overseas every repair job personally to ensure the highest quality finish. A job done well is a job that only needs to be done once says Damon. Both Jack and Damon are proud to be Caravan Industry of Victoria service safe approved.

He introduced me to Damon who is the service manager, after-sales and warranty manager and an important cog in the Wagga Caravans wheel. Both Jack and Damon realize the importance of looking after their customers well after they have picked up their van and hit the open road, living the dream. 

Its really easy to see why Wagga Caravan Centre continues to receive rave reviews. The team work really hard to ensure every single customer walks away having total confidence in their new purchase. Jack and the team set very high standards for themselves with regard to providing exceptional service every time.
